Luckily I managed to have a hand on an account from one of my Aion Server development friends few hours before the CBT ended. Yes I just had few hours to play and explore.

As expected the graphics is really stunning, the details, terrains, & effects are really impressive. You can really see detailed design of the armor/dress of the characters even the NPCs. The shadows & lighting is realistic.

In terms of gameplay, Blade & Soul is a very user-friendly game. Though I played in Korean server the guiding NPCs are easy to understand and follow. Moving on from a point and click MMORPGs to this kind of game isn’t that hard to adapt. I can’t actually give more details about the gameplay since I haven’t explored much of the game yet.

NCSoft gave us four playable classes for CBT1 namely Force Master, Kung-Fu Master, Destroyer & Blade Master. Though in the previous trailers it seems like they also have assassin & gun user. They also have 4 playable race namely Kun, Gon, Jin & Lyn. The Force Master is the main magic user in which according to other sites, they do not actually need some casting time unlike other MMORPG. The Kung-Fu Master is somewhat like a grappler. Destroyer from the name itself destroys enemies with their massive damage and can be compared with a Gladiator class. The Blade Master is somewhat like a swordsman though most of the players are comparing them with assassin.

Questing was never been a problem in the game as it is very clear in the quest logs as well as to the mini-map tells you where exactly you must go. So far, I haven’t experienced any crash from the game aside from some lag which I really do encounter even in any korean websites. So that’s it for CBT1 hopefully I could still have a hand on the coming CBT2 which is rumored to be coming this August.
